into the spiderverse is sexy in many ways but one of those ways is how it’s telling people that don’t really read the comics that peter parker/spiderman is his own person and he/his character development isn’t contingent upon fucking tony stark. whether he’s a successful, loved new york icon that does christmas albums or he’s an out of shape divorced man, he did all that himself. he built himself up, he made his own suit, his own tech, his own name. he’s spiderman, not tony stank’s pseudo-child.
